Hasbro Dance Cam - How to Shop for Safe Toys

By Harley Hamilton

Christmas is just around the corner and Santa is on his way. (And okay, we know that he says he's not going to give gifts to your child if he or she has been naughty, but in general, he's pretty forgiving.) What are you (and/or Santa) going to get your child this year for Christmas? You might want to consider the Playskool Dance Cam. Not only is it fun because it lets your child produce his or her own "shows" as the star character, but it fosters creativity, too. And, most important, it's very safe.

Of course, you want your child to enjoy the gifts you give him or her (and the Playskool Dance Cam is certainly enjoyable), and it's likely that your child might even have a wish list all filled out. However, of course safety is a key feature. Every day, we hear about product recalls and substandard toy products built in places that don't have the United States' safety standards. Therefore, it becomes a parent's duty to be extra careful when shopping for toys, no matter whether they're on your child's wish list or not.

So, with safety in mind first, take a look at your child's wish list (or your own shopping list) and consider these tips.

Try shopping locally first

First of all, if you shop locally, not only are you supporting a local business, but it's also likely that that particular store owner has taken extra care to make sure the toy products in stock are safe.

Check out safe toy places online

Simply typing in the keywords "safe toys online," "stores with safe toys," or something similar will bring up a number of sites that specifically specialize in toy projects that are unequivocally safe. They've been checked out and they've met standards, so check around to see what other consumers are saying and shop only at sites that get very high marks from other consumers.

Some national retailers make a special effort, too

Some national retailers make a special effort to make sure the toys they have in stock are safe. For example, specialty children's toy stores that are national chains are likely to meet a certain standard smaller private stores may not. (This may sound contradictory, by the way, given the earlier tip about shopping locally, but not if you have checked out the local retailer first and made sure that he or she has a good reputation.) These specialty chains have to stay in business, so if they don't make sure that their products, specifically children's toys, are safe, they're hurting their bottom line.

Check the brand

Major brands, like Hasbro Playskool, are taking extra steps to make sure the toys they produce are safe. This is one reason the Playskool Dance Cam is a good choice for your child.

Does the product come with a "seal of approval" from a major safety watchdog?

Organizations like Good Housekeeping often will put their stamp of approval on safe toys. This isn't foolproof, and some toys without seals of approval like this may certainly be safe even so. However, it's one more way to help you make sure that the toy you put under the tree or in your child's stocking will provide only fun, and nothing more.

Lazertag Battle System - How to Find Gifts for Everyone

By Harley Hamilton

The Christmas shopping season is upon us, and getting gifts for everyone takes time, patience and too much money for your budget if you're not very careful. Some gifts like the Hasbro Lazer Tag Multiplayer Battle System will come at a reasonable price and it will also bring back fond memories if you are in the right age group.

When it comes to Christmas, most people want to get gifts that people want, not just something that comes with the right price tag. As a result, most folks spend a lot of time browsing, thinking, making lists and remaking lists in search of that perfect gift for loved ones.

When it comes to games, as much as times have changed is as much as they have stayed the same. If you have children, you probably remember the days when you were young and played Lazer Tag, that really cool toy made by Worlds of Wonder. If you came through during the Teddy Ruxpin era, you probably have fond memories of running around with a lazer gun in hand and a target on your back and front. When the lazer hit the target, you were dead. It was old school, lots of fun and an easy way for your parents to get you to exercise without twisting your arm.

Times have changed, but not that much. Now Hasbro has come out with the Hasbro Lazer Multiplayer Battle System with its newer, compact and more high tech in design. Each set comes with two pistols, two electronic sites and two rifle attachments with a unit that registers kills. You have a training module where it allows you to hook up to your television set to practice, and you are once again challenged to take out your opponent.

While the Hasbro Lazer Tag Multiplayer Battle System has got more features and bells and whistles, a high-tech design and more modules, it is still basically a lazer tag game. When your kids think they're ready, they can take on live opponents and move away from the television. The guns resemble a Star Wars blaster complete with simulated recoil, flash of light and a health status on the left side of the pistol. It is more complex than the old lazer tag games, but it is still fun with an added touch of toughness that makes it unique.

Another nice thing about the Hasbro Lazer Tag Multiplayer Battle System is that it is available for ordering online. In today's hectic frantic world, a lot of Christmas buying can now take place online, and this is no exception. If you decide to give your children something that is both fun, satisfying and a bit of a blast from the past, think about buying the Hasbro Lazer Tag Multiplayer Battle System.

It is something that comes with more capabilities than when you played it originally, but essentially it is the same game. It is one of the reasons that it is so popular, because from the time we played cowboys and Indians, through the blasters from Star Wars, lazertag games and paintball mania, competition and games where you can beat your opponent have maintained their allure from generation to generation.
